All admission rates are plus HST.

(Please note the historic house and galleries are closed from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. during the Easter Egg Hunt)

The museum is accessible by transit routes 1, 2 and 8 and is a short walk from Victoria Park and downtown Kitchener.

 80 minutes from downtown Toronto
 60 minutes from Toronto Pearson International Airport

 2 ¼ hours from Peace Bridge Fort Erie, 3 hours from Ambassador Bridge at Windsor/Detroit.

Parking is available free of charge across from the museum.

Gift Shop
Our gift shop is a project of the Friends of Joseph Schneider Haus. The gift shop features many unique, locally made and handcrafted items.

The main floors of the historic house and exhibit galleries are accessible. A written guide is available for those unable to access the second floor of the historic house. The grounds and pathways may be a barrier to those with limited mobility.  Joseph Schneider Haus does not offer wheelchair accessible washrooms.    

Service Animals & Pets

Service animals are welcome in the historic haus, galleries and grounds. Pets, however, are not permitted.

Museum Photo Policy
Museum visitors may take personal/amateur photographs or video for private, noncommercial use throughout most areas of the museum and historic house for their own personal use by paying general admission to the museum. However, personal photography or video is not allowed in the following circumstances:

  • In special exhibitions or areas designated as "No Photography," or works of art on loan from private collections or other institutions
  • If interfering with other guests' museum experience
  • If lamps, cords, flashes, tripods or professional cameras or recording equipment are being used

Photographs taken for personal use may not be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever. The museum reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to withhold and/or withdraw permission to photograph on its premises.

Requests for media, promotional photography, and commercial filming must be directed to the Joseph Schneider Haus Supervisor of Marketing and Partnerships.
